Le 72e anniversaire de la fin de la Seconde Guerre mondiale en Europe et de la Libération des Camps a été commémoré ce 8 mai à Mons lors d'une première cérémonie au monument aux morts (place du Parc) en présence d'enfants des écoles. Le secrétaire de notre section a pris part à cette matinée d'hommages qui s'est poursuivie au mémorial situé dans la rue des Barbelés. Ensuite, les autorités et les représentants d'associations patriotiques se sont rendus pour la première fois sur le site de l'ancien Tir Communal pour un hommage au monument Daubechie et aux Fusiliers. Cette matinée s'est achevée sur la Grand'Place pour un dernier hommage à la plaque commémorative O.M.B.R.E., suivi par la réception à l'hôtel de ville.
